A clear, collaborative process from first call to launch.

Software projects succeed when everyone knows what is happening and why. Our eight-stage process keeps scope, decisions and progress visible from start to finish.

Eight stages, each with a defined outcome.

  1. Stage 01

    Discovery and consultation

We learn how your business works today and what a successful outcome looks like.

    • An initial call to understand goals, constraints and timing
    • Conversations with the people who will use the solution
    • A review of existing systems, data and workflows

What to expect: A shared understanding of the problem and an honest view of whether, and how, we can help.

  2. Stage 02

    Requirements and planning

We turn goals into clear, prioritised requirements and a realistic plan.

    • Defining scope, priorities and what is deliberately out of scope
    • Identifying risks, dependencies and open questions
    • Estimating effort and agreeing milestones

What to expect: A written scope and proposal you can review before any build work is agreed.

  3. Stage 03

    Solution architecture

We design the technical foundations: systems, data, integrations and security.

    • Choosing a technology stack that suits the project and your team
    • Designing the data model and integration points
    • Planning for security, performance and future growth

What to expect: An architecture outline explaining key technical decisions and their trade-offs.

  4. Stage 04

    UI/UX design

We design interfaces that make complex work feel simple for the people using them.

    • User flows and wireframes for the key journeys
    • Visual design aligned with your brand
    • Reviewing designs with you before development

What to expect: Approved designs for the first release, so development starts from agreed screens.

  5. Stage 05

    Development

We build in short iterations so you can see progress and give feedback early.

    • Iterative development with regular demonstrations
    • Code reviews and automated tests as standard practice
    • Clear written updates on progress, decisions and blockers

What to expect: Working software you can review throughout, not just at the end.

  6. Stage 06

    Testing and quality assurance

We test functionality, usability, performance and security before anything goes live.

    • Functional and regression testing against agreed requirements
    • Testing across devices and browsers where relevant
    • Acceptance testing with your team

What to expect: A release candidate that has been checked against requirements and reviewed by you.

  7. Stage 07

    Deployment preparation

We prepare the solution for a smooth, low-risk launch.

    • Environment, hosting and configuration set-up
    • Data migration and final checks
    • Handover documentation and launch planning

What to expect: A launch plan agreed with you, including who does what on the day and how to roll back if needed.

  8. Stage 08

    Support and continuous improvement

After launch, we can help you maintain, improve and extend what we built.

    • Monitoring and fixing issues found after launch
    • Planning improvements based on real usage
    • Further phases and new features when you are ready

What to expect: Support and improvement options are agreed separately, so you only commit to what you need.

What you can rely on throughout.

No work without agreement
Scope, cost and timeline are agreed in writing before build work begins, and changes are discussed before they happen.
Visible progress
You see working software regularly, not only at the end, and can give feedback while it is still easy to act on.
Your decision at each stage
Each stage ends with a clear outcome you review, so you decide whether and how to continue.

Deployment, hosting and post-launch support arrangements vary by project and are agreed with each client in the project proposal. Nothing beyond the agreed scope is assumed.
